Fall Family Portraits: Find the Best Location to Capture Those Memories

The leaves are turning orange and the air is getting crisp. Fall is here and now you're thinking about those beautiful family portraits. Where do you take them? There's a lot to consider when posing for your family portraits, but one of the most important things to think about is location.

Here are some tips on where to take them and at the end, there are some locations in Franklin, TN, and surrounding areas.

 

Roads Lined With Trees

For an autumn family portrait, look for trees that line both sides of the road. This will create a beautiful backdrop with lots of fall colors!

Wooded Area

Opening in a wooded area is a great spot. If you back just into the shade a bit you will find the perfect lighting with a beautiful background!

Your Own Backyard

Of course, you can always take your family portraits in your own backyard. This is a great way to get that relaxed feel and also gives the kids a safe area to run around!

 

Porches

Porches are great, where you have beautiful lighting with trees in the background.

Public Parks and Recreation Areas

Public parks and recreation areas offer a great place to take pictures, but make sure you check the rules first! You don't want your trip ruined because they say photography is prohibited.

Drizzly Days

The camera is able to capture the beauty of Drizzly Days because it captures colors that would otherwise be washed out by sunlight. You will be surprised at how beautiful your portraits turn out!

Avoiding the wanted railroad track shots is critical to avoiding hefty fines. They really crack down on this and it's for everyone's safety!
